Eco-Tourism

Many environmental and activist organizations rely on external funding sources such as donations, Stream grants and fundraising strategies to cover their costs. Green New World’s concept is not only to adapt and implement ecologically sustainable principles but to utilize these ecologically sustainable principles and fair trade principles to create a sustainable business for generating revenue so that each regional Sustainability Center can operate independently and obtain economical sustainability. Depending on the region of our activity area we can devise different strategies to generate revenue to cover the operational costs of the Sustainability Center and its activities. This allows us to direct 100% of all donations and grants to our eco-projects which makes our efforts highly effective.

For our first project at Lake Atitlan we are integrating an Eco-Tourism module which provides visitors with the opportunity to LakeViewexperience the comfort of an ecologically sustainable lifestyle according to Green New World’s principles. Our Eco-Tourism module encompasses three segments consisting of lodging, restaurants and tours. All guest quarters are equipped with sustainable technologies and procedures in the five domains of our activities so that guests can experience a carbon neutral lifestyle during their stay. The restaurant will offer organic and carbon neutral food inspired by international and local cuisine. Our tours will focus on Sustainable Living, local environmental issues or local flora and fauna. Additionally, our guests can participate in any of our eco-projects or attend one of our workshops in sustainability. The Eco-Tourism module is planned to be fully operational by 2012.
